Sharing Skies is an interdisciplinary music and media project created by composer-instrumentalists Michael Blasky (saxophone, effects) and Kyle Scherrer (guitar, effects). Presented as an ongoing series of filmed musical performances sans audience, each video showcases an original piece written to reflect and interact with the space in which it is heard. While drawing influence from a diverse stylistic range of modern composed and improvised music, Sharing Skies serves as a platform both to showcase the limitlessness and malleability of the duo format and to challenge the prescribed sonic role of the instrumentalist.
